The Shiba Inu is a breed of dog available in Nintendogs and its 3DS sequel. It is the Japanese-only mascot of Nintendogs, in place of Labrador Retriever, and Nintendogs + Cats, in place of Golden Retriever.
Description and TemperamentEdit
DS: "A breed originating in Ancient Japan, its small, muscular body and curly tail are its best features."
3DS (NTSC): "A breed originating in Japan, its small, muscular body and curly tail are its best features."
3DS (PAL): "A breed originating in Japan, it is known for its small muscular body and curly tail."
Bold, independent and headstrong, the Shiba Inu brims with self-confidence. It is lively outdoors, yet calm indoors, as long as they get daily exercise. It may be aggressive with all dogs of the any gender and may chase small children. It is a hardy breed, ready for whatever happens. Some tend to be headstrong and domineering. It is territorial, alert, and reserved with strangers- ingredients making an excellent watchdog. It is quite vocal- some bark a lot.
In real life, the Shiba Inu does come in red, black-and-tan, and sesame (red with black-tipped hairs). It also comes in white (although, it's called "cream"), but this is considered a major fault in dog shows because it's nonstandard with all major kennel clubs. In-game, the red Shiba Inus with black snouts that the player finds when selecting Red are not sesame. Rather, this is a sesame colored Shiba Inu.
