The Pull Rope (Japanese: ひっぱりロープ Hippari rōpu) is an item in Nintendogs that falls under the category of Toys in the Supplies. It is a blue rope the player can use to play tug-of-war with their puppy.

In-Game Description[]

  • Nintendogs: "This light, yet sturdy bone-shaped rope is ideal for dogs that like tugs-of-war."

How to Use[]

The Pull Rope can be used at home or at the park. The player needs to have their puppy come to them, then dangle the rope above its head. It will inevitably grab on, pulling and stretching the rope (it will not break). If the player yanks the rope upwards, their puppy will be pulled off the ground. From there the player can swing the puppy around and even let go, making the puppy "fly" across the room.

If there are multiple puppies, they can play with each other using the Pull Rope. The player can throw it to them and wait until two puppies latch on, then watch them play puppy tug-of-war.

How to Obtain[]

The Pull Rope cannot be found on walks. It can be bought at the Discount Shop occasionally after the player has obtained 300 Trainer Points. Since prices vary each time the player visits the shop, the Pull Rope can range from $4-$7. It sells for $3.20 at the Secondhand Shop.

Trivia[]

  • While the Pull Rope is not available in Nintendogs + Cats, there is an unused model of the toy within the game's files, along with multiple color variants (blue, orange, pink, and white). This suggests it was going to be included in the sequel at some point during development, and that the different colors were most likely planned to become version-exclusive. The Pull Rope did not make it into the final game for reasons unknown.
