The Newsboy Hat/Cap (Japanese: キャスケット Kyasuketto) is an item in Nintendogs and Nintendogs + Cats that falls under the category of "Accessories" in the Supplies. It is a type of headgear the player can put on their pet.
In Nintendogs, the hat has a short brim, with everything except the white button top having vertical blue, white, and light green stripes all over. In Nintendogs + Cats, the cap is instead a checkered blue.

- In Nintendogs, the Newsboy Hat can be found uncommonly on walks as a present. It sells for $16 at the Secondhand Shop.
- In Nintendogs + Cats, the Newsboy Cap can be purchased from Coletta for $22 after unlocking it with 3,000 Owner Points or playing for at least 14 days. It can also be obtained via the Pedometer after taking 8,000-8,999 steps. It sells for $9 at the Secondhand Shop.
