The Chicken Jerky (Japanese: ささみジャーキー Sasa mi jākī) is a food item in Nintendogs + Cats that falls under the category of "Care" in the Supplies. It is a single slice of chicken meat that comes in a hot pink packet. What's special about this treat is that it is seasoned with catnip, an herb kittens will have a strong reaction to. Kittens love Chicken Jerky above all other treats and it puts them in a great mood.
While puppies don't mind Chicken Jerky, they do not have a reaction to the catnip. They prefer dog-specific treats.

How to Obtain[]
Chicken Jerky can be brought to the player uncommonly as a present from a kitten. It can also be obtained from the Pedometer after 1,000-1,999 steps. It sells for $4 at the Secondhand Shop.
