The Great Dane (German: Deutsche Dogge) is a breed of dog introduced in Nintendogs + Cats. The Great Danes in Nintendogs + Cats are very fast and perfect for disc competitions and lure coursing. The breed is also known in German as Deutsche Dogge, but it keeps its name in Danish.
Breed Description[]
Great Danes are a powerful, active working breed-- one of the largest in the dog world, in fact. They were bred by German nobility to hunt large, dangerous predators such as boars and bears.
Despite its intimidating stature, the Great Dane is a gentle companion dog, and is especially protective of young children.

The Great Dane has three color options: Mantle, Harlequin, and Fawn.
If the player chooses "Surprise Me" they may also find:
- a pure white Great Dane
- a white Great Dane with brown spots
