The Cocker Spaniel (Japanese: コッカー・スパニエル Kokkā supanieru) is a breed of dog introduced in Nintendogs + Cats.

The Cocker Spaniel is sweet, gentle, and lovable. Cockers are devoted to their owners and get attached to humans fairly quickly. The breed was named for the bird it hunted: the Woodcock.
There are two types of Cocker Spaniel - American and English. The English version is slightly larger, with a longer snout and eyes set deeper within the skull. English cocker spaniels come in Show and Working varieties, where the main physical differences are the ear length and the length of the snout. The Working English cocker spaniel, with a typically shorter snout and less prominent ears in comparison to the Show English cocker spaniel, is the only type available in-game.
