The Jump Rope (Japanese: なわとび Na wa tobi) is an item in Nintendogs that falls under the category of Toys in the Supplies. It is a toy for puppies to jump over continuously.

In-Game Description[]

  • Nintendogs: "Grab the handle, start swinging, and the dogs will join in."

How to Use[]

The player will need at least two puppies at home. When the Jump Rope is taken out, one puppy will grab one end while the player grabs the other. The rest of the puppies will line up and tap the floor, waiting for the player to begin swinging the Jump Rope.

While jumping, the puppies tend to switch places for no particular reason, though this makes it more likely for the player to accidentally smack them. If the player smacks a puppy when they're airborne, they will fly up and land with a thud. Doing this will lower the player's Trainer Points.

The puppies will eventually become tired and will not want to jump anymore. However, the puppy holding onto the other end of the Jump Rope will be forced to stay there until the player puts the toy away. Playing with the Jump Rope will also make the puppies thirsty very quickly, so it's advised that the player has some water or milk ready for use.

How to Obtain[]

The Jump Rope cannot be found on walks. It can be purchased at the Discount Shop occasionally after the player has obtained 300 Trainer Points. Since prices vary each time the player visits the shop, the Jump Rope can range from $5.00 - $9.00. It sells for $4 at the Secondhand Shop.

Trivia[]

  • If the player can keep a rally of jumps going for a long amount of time, the puppy will improve in Agility Trials, especially when jumping over the hurdles and the double-hurdles.
  • There is a glitch where the puppy will walk around holding the Jump Rope instead of staying still. The glitch happens when the player has the Jump Rope out and enters the inventory a few times. The player can mess with the other side of the Jump Rope but it will not effect the puppy. The glitch ends when the player puts the toy away.
